Tourism in our state

South Australia boasts world-class food and wine, has stunning coastlines and beaches, and is attractive to visitors wanting to explore the wilderness and a vibrant city.

With South Australia’s visitor economy worth more than $7 billion, our state is experiencing significant investments across new hotels and infrastructure projects to accommodate this growing number. This is complemented by a substantial boost in air and cruise access, indicating strong business confidence.

The tourism industry has been identified as a super growth industry over the next 20 years. More visitors to South Australia mean more dollars are injected into the state’s economy and more jobs created.

The South Australian Tourism Commission is committed to growing the state’s visitor economy to $12.8 billion by 2030 – up from $7.2 billion currently – with 16,000 new tourism jobs to be created by 2030.
